Need Eternal Life?

Eternal Life is a gift from God Himself through the person of Jesus Christ. This gift is given to every body in this world. The question is, do you want the gift? Remember that just because you are given a gift does not mean that you have the gift. You will need to accept the gift in order to have it. Accepting this gift requires that you meet the following requirements:

1) Accepting that you are a sinner.
Who is a sinner?
A sinner is any body that disobeys the commandment of God.

Take this short test to see if you are a sinner.

a) Have you ever told a lie?
b) Have you ever stolen anything?
c) Have you ever lusted?
d) Have you ever coveted?
e) Have you ever hated anyone unjustly?
These are some of the commands God listed in (Exodus 20)

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you are a sinner. Also remember that if you say you are without sin, you are liar. (1John 1:8)

2) Purpose in your heart to reject every thing about you that causes you to sin against God. Remember that you do not have to become good in other to come to Christ. If you try to do that, you defeat the purpose of coming to Him. He is the only one that can make you anew.

3) Believe and trust in Jesus Christ as your only Lord and Savior.

4) Ask Jesus to take your sins away

How can Jesus take your sins away?

This is how it works

- Because God is infinitely righteous and without sin, He cannot accept you in His presence with sin in you.

- Also, the fact that He is Just, He cannot allow the righteous people to be punished nor can He allow the   unrighteous people to go unpunished.

- This means that, if you are unrighteous (a sinner), you must be punished.

- Because God is perfect in all His ways, He will reward the righteous with a perfect gift of eternal life, and also   punish the unrighteous with the perfect punishment.

- Perfect punishment means some thing like this: Think of the worst thing that can happen to a person, and   multiply it by an infinite number.

- In summary, your sins have caused a separation between you and God (Isaiah 59:2) and the result is death   (Rom. 6:23) and wrath (Eph. 2:3).

- Because Jesus Christ loves you, He came from God and took the punishment that was reserved for you
  (1John 2:2).

- Because He has done your punishment for you, you are now without any punishment.

- You now have the righteousness of Jesus Christ, and can now spend eternity with God (1Peter 2:24).

- Remember that the only way to be saved from the punishment of God, is to have faith (believe and trust) in Christ   (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:1).

- He is the only way to God the Father (John 14:6)

5) You can now ask Jesus to come in to you life.

6) Once He comes in, you are now saved from the righteous judgment of God.

7) Find a church that teaches about Jesus Christ and get rooted in.

Note: This is not the only progression of events to lead to salvation. The Spirit of God is infinitely flexible and can save people in which ever way He pleases.
